T-Kernel

YRP UNL offers consultation for embedded systems technologies, and contributes to T-Engine Forum the fundamental technology related to T-Kernel which is an embedded real-time platform. Development of highly-reliable real-time OS T-Kernel 2.0 Aerospace (T2AS), and 6LowPAN for μT-Kernel 2.0, the framework for the IoT application, are under way.

T-Kernel 2.0 Aerospace (T2AS)

UNL has developed T2AS, highly-reliable Real-time Operating System (RTOS) through the collaborative research with JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency). T2AS has been developed based on T-Kernel 2.0, and many existing TRON software resources can be used. T2AS has been adopted for the satellite, ERG (Exploration of energization and Radiation in Geospace) by JAXA, and is expected to be used in other fields such as transportation, medical electronics and factory automation.

6LowPAN for μT2

IPv6 over Low-Power Wireless Personal Network(6LoWPAN) is a standard for personal area network, and expectation for 6LoWPAN is rising as a key component to realize the IoT. UNL develops 6LowPAN protocol stack which runs on T-Kernel platform, and additionally CoAP (Constrained Application Protocol) which is a simplified protocol of HTTP. Using these, small devices can be connected to the IP-based network easily.
